The Immense BUZZ of SIC - Captured!
The Story Behind It!
Today, thanks to various tech enthusiasts within NGO's & Tech4Good providers, a lot of NGO's scale EXPONENTIALLY with technology and the modern NGO sector's issue lies in bringing all learnings and experience out in the open from the silos they currently in!
That's when the idea of SIC was born!
When we thought a bit deeper, these emerged as the pressing issues that could be solved by a platform that can bring those like-minded people together
1
Inefficiency in reaching non-profits
Despite the development of various products to aid the social sector, how much of this innovation is truly reaching the non-profits?
2
Lack of visibility
There's a substantial effort in creating tech solutions, but how much of it is visible to fellow nonprofit professionals, causing unnecessary duplication of work?
We aimed to bring together the tech-forward nonprofits and Tech4Good enthusiasts who strive to create impact through collaboration, sharing ideas, and learning from each other.
With this aim in mind, we set out to create a platform where all these happen:
Share failures and redundant efforts, helping other organizations to save costs and avoid the same pitfalls.
Knowledge Sharing
A shared platform that multiple like-minded organizations can leverage, enhancing unity and resource-sharing.
Collaborative platform building
Identify and utilize existing pre-built solutions, accelerating progress and minimizing wasted effort.
Increased awareness of existing solutions
We launched a miniature version of SIC, a small experimentation in our office in Coimbatore. We invited diverse people - from budding changemakers to the leaders in the field.
And this gave us a great boost to conduct SIC across the country!
How did we solve it?
